The Book of Praise.
Whilst this thorny path we tread, May Thy love our footsteps lead ! When our journey here is past, May we rest with Thee at last!
Let these earthly Sabbaths prove Foretastes of our joys above ; While their steps Thy pilgrims bend To the rest which knows no end !

Of Thy love some gracious token
Grant us, Lord, before we go ; Bless Thy word which has been spoken ;
Life and peace on all bestow ! When we join the world again, Let our hearts with Thee remain : O direct us And protect us, Till we gain the heavenly shore, Where Thy people want no more !
